The Worldwide Medical Evacuation, Maritime Evacuation, and Repatriation service is part of the International LifeLineā„¢ annual and trip memberships. This service provides coordination of evacuation for a medically related incident, as well as repatriation services. To utilize the repatriation service, the member must be admitted to a hospital (see Country Exclusions below) and will be transported to a hospital closer to home or a hospital of their choosing.

All operations are coordinated by the International LifeLineā„¢ Response Center, which is staffed 24/7/365 to liaise between medical personnel and the Membership holder, with 24-hour multi-lingual support.

Service Details - Sections A through D

International LifeLineā„¢ will provide medical evacuation, maritime evacuation, and repatriation to a hospital nearest your home or a hospital of your choosing that is capable of providing the required treatment, as determined by the physicians providing current treatment and by International LifeLineā„¢. Evacuation and repatriation will be performed in a medically equipped and staffed aircraft, ambulance, or other appropriate mode of transportation.

Services are available when a Member is injured or becomes ill during a trip and requires emergency medical repatriation. Services are delivered subject to these Terms and Conditions and require that the membership is valid and current at the time of and throughout the incident period, and include:

  • Emergency medical evacuation costs incurred on the advice of a Doctor or Emergency Services appointed by the Medical Emergency Provider, to transport the Member to Medical Facility ā€˜A’.
  • Repatriation costs to transport the Member to Medical Facility ā€˜B’ nearer to the Member’s permanent residence, or to the hospital of their choosing, following an emergency medical evacuation, provided that:
    • The Doctor agrees the Member is sufficiently fit to travel, if necessary by air ambulance or other appropriate specialized transport; and
    • The Member is 99 miles or more away from their permanent residence.
  • Medical stabilization costs at Medical Facility ā€˜A’ prior to evacuation or repatriation, subject to the General Conditions and the Section C limit of $1,500 per day for a maximum of 7 days, up to $10,500.

PAYMENT CONDITIONS AND SERVICE LIMITS

  • The Member must not attempt to arrange solutions to medical emergency problems without involving the appointed Medical Emergency Provider. If the Medical Emergency Provider is not involved, International LifeLineā„¢ may, at its sole discretion, decline to pay for the costs of the incident.
  • If, in good faith, International LifeLineā„¢ incurs emergency medical evacuation or repatriation costs for any person other than the injured or ill Member, the Member will reimburse International LifeLineā„¢ for all such costs incurred.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Memberships may be cancelled and a full refund requested within 30 days of purchase, provided no incident notification has been made during that period.

Important Refund Deadline: Because International LifeLineā„¢ is required to report and remit payment to its underwriters for all memberships purchased within a given calendar month by the 15th of the following month, full refunds cannot be processed for requests received more than 14 days after the end of the month in which the membership was purchased. For example, a membership purchased in May must have a full refund request submitted no later than June 14.
